VinciPhoto (“we”, “our”, or “us”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, and protected when you use the VinciPhoto mobile application (the “App”).
Your photos never leave your device. Everything the App does with them — finding near-duplicates, detecting screenshots and Live Photos, picking the best shot in a group, and searching your library by description — runs entirely on your iPhone or iPad using models bundled inside the App. We never upload, receive, or store your photos.
What does leave your device is limited to anonymous usage and diagnostic data, advertising data collected by our advertising partners, purchase records handled by our payments provider, and any feedback message you choose to send us. Each is described below.
VinciPhoto requests access to your photo library solely to provide core App functionality.
You can manage or revoke photo access at any time through your device settings.
VinciPhoto does not require account registration. We do not ask for or collect your name, email address, phone number, or physical address.
We do process pseudonymous identifiers — randomly generated app-installation identifiers, and advertising identifiers where you have allowed tracking — which may be treated as personal data under some privacy laws. These are described in sections 4 to 6.
The App uses PostHog to understand how the App is used and to detect crashes. PostHog processes:
Analytics events never contain your photos, thumbnails, embeddings, filenames, or the text of your searches. PostHog processes this data on servers in the United States, which may be outside your country of residence.
The free version of VinciPhoto displays advertisements through Google AdMob, with AppLovin serving as a mediation partner. These partners may automatically collect:
On iOS, the App asks for your permission through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt before any tracking occurs. If you decline, ads are still shown but are not personalized, and no advertising identifier is shared. The App works exactly the same either way. You can change this choice at any time in your device settings.
Data collection and usage by these partners are governed by their own privacy policies. VinciPhoto does not directly access, store, or control these identifiers.
If you purchase VinciPhoto Premium, the advertising SDKs are not initialized at all, no App Tracking Transparency prompt is shown, and no advertising data is collected.
Purchases are processed by Apple through your Apple ID. We never receive your payment card details, billing address, or Apple ID credentials.
We use RevenueCat to validate purchase receipts with Apple and to determine whether your installation is entitled to Premium features. RevenueCat processes a randomly generated, anonymous app user identifier along with transaction data such as the product purchased, purchase and expiration dates, and renewal status. This identifier is not linked to your name or email address.
If you use the feedback form in Settings, the message you write is sent to us by email through EmailJS, together with your app version, operating system version, and device platform. We do not attach your email address, and we have no way to reply to you directly unless you include contact details in the message yourself. Please do not include sensitive personal information in feedback.
The App may send you local notifications — for example, to tell you that a background scan found new near-duplicates, or to deliver your monthly cleanup summary. These are generated on your device. The App does not use push notifications and does not register for a push token, so no notification content is transmitted to us or to Apple’s push service. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.
Information collected through VinciPhoto is used only to:
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Information may only be shared:
Photos, embeddings, the search index, your cleanup history, and your daily usage counters are stored only on your device and are removed when you delete the App. Analytics and diagnostic events are retained by PostHog for no longer than is necessary for the purposes described above. Purchase records are retained by RevenueCat for as long as your entitlement is active and as required for accounting and tax purposes. Feedback messages are retained in our email inbox until they are no longer needed.
VinciPhoto uses reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information processed by the App. All data transmitted to the services named above is sent over encrypted connections. Photo data remains on your device and is not stored on external servers.
VinciPhoto is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of certain data, and to object to processing or withdraw consent. You can:
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted within the App or on our website with an updated effective date.
